{"id":5840,"date":"2010-04-26T14:58:00","date_gmt":"2010-04-26T12:58:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"blizzard-not-afraid-to-go-after-hackers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/5840-blizzard-not-afraid-to-go-after-hackers","title":{"rendered":"Blizzard \u201cnot afraid\u201d to go after hackers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Developer Blizzard has told industry gaming news publication <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/28229\/Blizzard_Will_Not_Hesitate_To_Take_Legal_Action_Against_Copyright_Violators.php\" target=\"_blank\">Gamasutra<\/a> that they will not hesitate to take legal action against people who are purported to be involved in hacking the StarCraft II beta.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s important to note that we aggressively protect our copyrights and the security of Battle.net,&#8221; Blizzard said in a statement. &#8220;In addition to providing players with a high-quality online experience for Blizzard Entertainment games, the service is one of the most effective measures we have for preventing piracy of our software over the internet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This comes after the developer filed law suits against six alleged hackers earlier this month. The group known as &ldquo;StarCrack&rdquo; was thought to be working on a hack which would allow StarCraft II to be played on illegal servers.
