With news that Colin Farrell may feature in the silver-screen coming of Warcraft<\/a>, MyGaming decided to look at some of the other upcoming video game movies heading our way.<\/p>\n

Need For Speed (2014)<\/h3>\n

Need for Speed makes its way to cinemas next year, and as you can expect, will be packed full of action, double-crossing, and of course, gorgeous cars.<\/p>\n

Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame has been cast in the starring role, and should be seen behind the wheel of some pretty exotic cars.<\/p>\n

The two-time Emmy winner also appeared in Smashed, The Last House on the Left, Mission: Impossible III, and Big Love.<\/p>\n

The screenplay for Need for Speed is based on the series as opposed to an individual game. EA will produce along with John Gatins and Mark Sourian.<\/p>\n

Scott Waugh (Act of Valor) is attached to direct, and the project will be fast-tracked at DreamWorks with a target production start date for early 2013, for a 2014 release.<\/p>\n

Resident Evil 6 (2014)<\/h3>\n

The big-screen adaptations of the Resident Evil franchise have been some of the most financially successful video game movies, and the sixth entry is set for a September 2014 release.<\/p>\n

Milla Jovovich reprises her role as series\u2019 protagonist, Alice, while Paul W.S. Anderson (who is also Jovovich\u2019s husband) will return to direct.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Forbes, series producer Samuel Hadida has previously said that the sixth and seventh films are planned, with a possible reboot following those.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will go another one, another two, and then I\u2019m sure it will be rebooted,\u201d said Hadida. \u201cSpider-Man did. Why not Resident Evil? You can come back to the original idea, the start of everything. You can take out characters. You can evolve. You can live with this world very easily. You know, characters were dead and they are still here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Assassin\u2019s Creed (2015)<\/h3>\n

Ubisoft Motion Pictures\u2019 big screen adaptation of Assassin\u2019s Creed will arrive in cinemas in 2015.<\/p>\n

This is good news for the project, which follows the news in October 2012 that Ubisoft was fast-tracking the production of the live-action take on the Assassins Creed franchise.<\/p>\n

Ubisoft also previously announced that it had joined forces with New Regency production studio.<\/p>\n

In July 2012, it was revealed that Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class, Prometheus) has signed-up to star and produce.<\/p>\n

New Regency president and CEO Brad Weston said working with Fassbender on Steve McQueen\u2019s 12 Years a Slave made the partnership on Assassin\u2019s Creed \u201cmore irresistible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to do everything we could to secure the rights to \u2018Assassin\u2019s Creed,\u2019 which Ubisoft has maintained with such care and quality over the years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\"Assassin's<\/a><\/p>\n

Angry Birds (2016)<\/h3>\n

Those swine-killing birds are coming to our big screens in 2016 with the help of Despicable Me producer John Cohen.<\/p>\n

As you\u2019d expect, the movie will be a CGI-animated affair, with executive producer of Iron Man, David Maisel, on board to produce.<\/p>\n

The movie will obviously feature the different birds and pigs we\u2019ve come to know from the games, and will greatly benefit from the talent behind the production and hopefully some great voice actors.<\/p>\n

Agent 47 (TBD)<\/h3>\n

The Fox International Productions reboot of the big-screen adaptation of the Hitman series has got its leading man \u2013 Paul Walker.<\/p>\n

The Fast and the Furious and Into the Blue star will take over the role of Agent 47, which was previously portrayed by Timothy Oliphant.<\/p>\n

Skip Woods and Michael Finch (A Good Day To Die Hard) is writing the script, while Aleksander Bach, who\u2019s well-known for his work on commercials, will direct.<\/p>\n

The first Hitman film, despite receiving mixed reviews, racked up just under $100,000,000 at the box office.<\/p>\n

Shooting for the new Hitman film is expected to take place in Berlin and Singapore in late 2013.<\/p>\n
