In a pretty strange event, a young college man allegedly stole a truck, kidnapped a woman, and rammed into a bunch of cars, claiming that he wanted to see “what it was really like to play the video game Grand Theft Auto.”<\/p>\n
20-year old Zachary Burgess, a college lacrosse player, is the man behind the reported incident, and was arrested in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Saturday (20 September) following reports of a stolen vehicle and dangerous driving.<\/p>\n
Burgess apparently stole the truck from a parking lot, with the female owner still inside.<\/p>\n
Burgess then rammed his way out of the parking lot, as cars were blocking his escape route.<\/p>\n
Police said that there were \u201cno\u00a0signs of him intending to return the truck to the rightful owner,\u201d despite the owner being inside of it at the time.<\/p>\n
Once Burgess was eventually apprehended, he allegedly told the police that he \u201cwanted to see what it was really like to play the video game Grand Theft Auto.\u201d<\/p>\n
He was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, kidnapping, and nine counts of hit and run, and he was released on Sunday after posting the $80,000 bond.<\/p>\n
There was no one hurt during Burgess\u2019 escapades.<\/p>\n
