With the news that gamers will have the opportunity to\u00a0upgrade from a current-gen game to the same game on next-gen for a small fee<\/a>, there are however restrictions on what it will allow players to do, such as port your single-player progress.<\/p>\n

Activision, EA, and Ubisoft representatives have all confirmed that single-player progress of games won\u2019t be carried over into the next-gen version.<\/p>\n

For example, if you are half way through Assassin\u2019s Creed IV: Black Flag on PS3, and upgrade to the PS4 version, you\u2019ll have to start the single-player campaign again.<\/p>\n

The plus however, is that multiplayer progress in Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts will carry over.<\/p>\n

Another Ubisoft rep was unable to confirm whether Watch Dogs will be able to feature cross-generational save transfers, but it\u2019s unlikely following the earlier statements.<\/p>\n
