The industry\u2019s big-name games are all dropping this quarter, but there are also a bunch of exciting games that are slipping under that radar; check out 5 of the most interesting.<\/p>\n

Sonic Lost World<\/h3>\n

The three-game-deal between Nintendo and Sega is an exciting prospect for Wii U and 3DS owners, and Sega\u2019s first offering, Lost World, is looking to be something quite interesting.<\/p>\n

The gameplay itself shows that it’s definitely taken inspiration from another colourful mascot\u2019s adventure, Super Mario Galaxy, which isn\u2019t a bad thing at all.<\/p>\n

Players will have to traverse (with speed) around some gorgeous and mind-bending 3D environments, while harnessing Sonic\u2019s new abilities, such as a wall-run and climbing ability.<\/p>\n

Sonic: Lost world will be exclusive to Wii U and 3DS, and set for release within 2013.<\/p>\n

Dead State<\/h3>\n

As you\u2019d expect from the title, Dead State is a new zombie game, however its doing things a little big differently from what\u2019s out there at the moment.<\/p>\n

Dead State throws players into a zombie apocalypse, but uses turn-based role-playing elements as its core gameplay.<\/p>\n

The player will be in charge of a local school sheltering survivors, and is tasked with defending the shelter from the zombie hordes and other enemies.<\/p>\n

Dead State is set to launch on PC on 3 December 2013.<\/p>\n

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate<\/h3>\n

Accompanying the release of Batman: Arkham Origins is Blackgate for 3DS and PS Vita.<\/p>\n

Blackgate is being developed by Armature Studios and takes the form of a Metriodvania-inspired 2.5D side-scrolling exploration action game, with some gorgeous hand-drawn comic-like cutscenes.<\/p>\n

It takes place three months after the events of Arkham Origins, and sees Batman having to enter Blackgate Prison in order to stop The Joker, Penguin and Black Mask.<\/p>\n

All of Batman\u2019s fan-loved gadgets will be available in the game, along with a custom-designed free-flow combat system like that in the other Arkham games.<\/p>\n

War Thunder<\/h3>\n

War Thunder had a huge presence at Gamescom this year and is heading to PS4, PC and Mac this November, and it\u2019s definitely going to arrive with a bang.<\/p>\n

The MMO combat game will give players the chance to jump into some classic pre-World War II machines and take one another in battles inspired by real-life events.<\/p>\n

There will be massive battlegrounds with a huge variety of ships, tanks and planes to unleash chaos with.<\/p>\n

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirrors of Fate HD<\/h3>\n

The Castlevania Lords of Shadow series made its way to handhelds recently, and after its renowned success, Mirrors of Fate is getting an HD port.<\/p>\n

This prequel to 2010\u2019s Lords of Shadow brings the action, horror and exploration elements that have made the series a favourite to the 3DS.<\/p>\n

Expect some creepy vampiric, werewolf and who-knows-what-else type of enemies to deal with when it hits PSN and Xbox Live Arcade on 31 October.<\/p>\n
