While all the attention is on the upcoming PS4, it’s worth bearing in mind that South Africa still has a strong PS3 install base.<\/p>\n
MyGaming spoke to Ster Kinekor Entertainment CEO Mario dos Santos to find out just how many PS3 consoles have been sold in in SA to date.<\/p>\n
“The PS3 install base in SA is just beyond the 400,000 unit mark. Those are all sold into market, and there has been a little bit of grey market sales, but not a lot,\u201d said Dos Santos.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is still some great upcoming content for the PS3, so I think everyone recognises that until there\u2019s this critical mass for PS4, then the PS3 will still be the go-to console and we expect PS3 to live side-by-side with PS4,\u201d said Dos Santos.<\/p>\n
