{"id":5903,"date":"2010-05-06T11:08:00","date_gmt":"2010-05-06T09:08:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"ea-crysis-2-will-be-a-halo-killer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/5903-ea-crysis-2-will-be-a-halo-killer","title":{"rendered":"EA: Crysis 2 will be a \u201cHalo killer\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.industrygamers.com\/news\/crysis-2-will-be-a-halo-killer-says-ea\/\" target=\"_blank\">Industry Gamers<\/a>, EA prez Frank Gibeau has been talking up Crysis 2&rsquo;s multiplayer bits. Now, with Richard Morgan on the writing squad, I can see the game&rsquo;s campaign being something special, and certainly much more than its predecessor&rsquo;s relentlessly drab attempts at anything even remotely resembling a good plot. But when it comes to multiplayer, nobody goes up against Halo on Xbox LIVE and wins. Well, except Modern Warfare 2, but then Modern Warfare 2 is Modern Warfare 2. Specifically, it&rsquo;s not the sequel to a game that had grotty multiplayer that nobody ever bothered playing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Recklessly undaunted, however, Gibeau says, &ldquo;&#8230;we were trying to craft a Halo-killer, you know a product that would squarely go after what Bungie built with our partners at Crytek. So the Crysis 2 product is spectacular, very high-end, and is going to be a multi-year franchise.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>So they&rsquo;re basically trying to clone someone else&rsquo;s successful formula instead of coming up with something original, and then presumably stuffing Nano Suits into it to try and make it look original? Why does that seem so familiar? Oh, because it sounds just like Crysis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php?5624-EA-promises-Crysis-2-will-be-a-quot-Halo-Killer-quot&amp;p=214715#post214715\" target=\"_self\">Discuss Halo Vs.
