A new eSports group, the South African eSports Association, has been formed, acting as a non-profit organisation to help grow and support eSports in the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe South African eSports Association is an association comprising all competitive titles played by the majority of gamers, be it on PC or console, online or offline. The association consists of community members, is run by community members and its constitution and objectives are decided upon by community members,\u201d said SAESA\u2019s founder Anthony Nell.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe SAESA is intended to be a mouthpiece for gamers nation wide on issues pertaining to: contract negotiations, sponsorship, representation of relevant gaming titles on a national or professional level and the general running of the professional gaming sphere.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nell has announced that SAESA will be hosting the first annual community vote to set up the association\u2019s constitution and vote in a committee who will act as representatives.<\/p>\n
The vote will take place on 25 October, with further details on the venue and Skype\/Google+ details to be finalised.<\/p>\n
