The Leap Motion controller is now available through Incredible Connection at a recommended retail price of R1,299.99.<\/p>\n
It comes with the motion sensor bar, the Leap controller, 60cm and 1.5m USB 3.0 extension cables and a one-year limited warranty.<\/p>\n
Leap motion has a list of the minimum requirements to use the controller effectively, as the calculations require a processor with a modern instruction set. Prospective buyers need a AMD Phenom II dual-core or Intel Core i3 or newer processor along with 2GB of RAM and ports conforming to the USB 2.0 standard.<\/p>\n
Supported operating systems are Windows 7, Windows 8 and Mac OS X 10.7 or newer. Windows 8.1 support is not confirmed at this time.<\/p>\n
Leap Motion describes their controller as a device that enables “true gesture-controlled computing.” “The Leap Motion Controller tracks all 10 fingers up to 1\/100th of a millimetre, and offers a super-wide 150\u00b0 field of view and a Z-axis for depth. The Leap Motion Controller can track movements at a rate of over 200 frames per second,” according to the controller’s creators.<\/p>\n
Distribution of the Leap Motion will be handled by Phoenix Distribution and will only be available for consumers inside Incredible Connection outlets.<\/p>\n
