The Humble Bundle has become an incredibly popular method of picking up great PC games at a low price – in fact, pretty much as little as you want to pay.<\/p>\n

Of course, more altruistic gamers could pay more than the average going rate and also decide how to split their money between developers, charities, and the Humble Bundle guys.<\/p>\n

The bundles often resulted in gamers getting Steam keys for games they already owned. These were often gifted to friends, given away through sites such as SteamGifts.com, or simply forgotten about.<\/p>\n

Because of this, a more sinister side to the bundles also emerged, with unscrupulous types re-selling the keys at a profit to unaware gamers.<\/p>\n

Now, all this is set to change, as Humble Bundle has implemented a new system for redeeming Steam keys.<\/p>\n

Basically, you will need to link your Steam account to your Humble Bundle account. Instead of clicking each game to receive a Steam key, the game will then be automatically added to your Steam account.<\/p>\n

As Humble Bundle points out, this isn’t so much a policy change as it is a technical implementation change. According to the Humble Bundle terms of service, all game keys were for personal use only.<\/p>\n

The gifting option remains for those who buy Humble Bundles for their mates.<\/p>\n

The new Steam redemption method isn’t being applied retroactively, so previous bundles will still have keys attached to them if you have not yet redeemed them.<\/p>\n

The new system kicked off with the current Team 17 Weekly Sale bundle.<\/p>\n
