It’s a bit quiet on the retail deals front this weekend – hopefully the retailers are preparing the big specials for the upcoming silly season.<\/p>\n

Despite this, there are a few deals worth checking out.<\/p>\n

Temper your purchase decision with the fact that the PS4 is launching on 13 December 2013 for R6,299 and this might herald price drops on current-gen systems in the near future.<\/p>\n

320GB Xbox 360 + 4 games – R2,899.90 (BT Games)<\/h3>\n

This is a rare bundle from BT Games, and not at a bad price either. For R2,899.90 you get a 4GB Xbox 360 console and a 320GB Xbox hard drive to upgrade its capacity. A guide on swapping out the drive can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is the largest hard drive you can get for an Xbox 360, and you’ll need it because the bundle comes with download tokens for some great games – Batman Arkham City, Skyrim, and Lego Star Wars 3.<\/p>\n

Rounding off the deal is a physical copy of the epic THQ and Vigil swansong, Darksiders II, one wireless controller, and a 2 month Xbox Live gold trial membership.<\/p>\n

BT Games Xbox 360 320GB bundle<\/p><\/div>\n

PS3 Super Slim 500GB + GTA V – R3,699.90 (BT Games)<\/h3>\n

This might not be a mind-blowing value-for-money special, but it’s not a bad deal if you’ve been wanting to hop on the PS3 bandwagon and have been itching to play GTA V.<\/p>\n

GTA V retails for a standard price of around R700, so you’re essentially paying R3,000 for the 500GB PS3 Super Slim. When this model launched in September 2012, it carried a R3,999.99\u00a0 recommended price.<\/p>\n

By way of comparison, Makro is still offering its PS3 Super Slim 500GB bundle (below).<\/p>\n

BT Games PS3 500GB + GTA V<\/p><\/div>\n

PS3 500GB + 2 controllers + 2 games – R3,999 (Makro)<\/h3>\n

Makro is offering a PS3 Super Slim 500GB + 2 DualShock 3 remotes + Gran Turismo 5 and God of War: Ascension + PS3 media remote + 2 forgettable Blu-Ray movies for R3,999.<\/p>\n

This bundle has been floating around for a number of weeks, so either it’s a great seller, or they can’t get rid of them.<\/p>\n

Makro PS3 500GB bundle<\/p><\/div>\n

Far Cry 3 PC – R90 – R100<\/h3>\n

Interestingly, Far Cry 3 PC seems to have come into a discount period at retail. Depending on where you like to shop you can find it for between R90 and R100 at Takealot, Zaps Online, Loot, and Phoenix Tech.<\/p>\n
