The ridiculously dubbed “resolutiongate” saga continues, as Eurogamer and Digital Foundry have learned that Call of Duty Ghosts single-player runs at 720p on PS4, out the box.<\/p>\n
A day-one patch is ready to boost the game up to the promised 1080p resolution.<\/p>\n
This is a sore point because Ghosts developer Infinity Ward, more specifically executive producer Mark Rubin, has been all over the place with his message regarding the game’s resolution.<\/p>\n
Back in June he said Ghosts would perform at 1080p on both consoles, but it has since emerged that on Xbox One the game is locked to 720p.<\/p>\n
In late October, days before the game was set to launch on current-gen and PC, Rubin confirmed the game ran at 720p on Xbox One, adding that the PS4 version was a native 1080p affair.<\/p>\n
While this will be true post-patch, it still means the game was geared for a 720p native experience in the first place. An Activision spokesperson blamed this on a “configuration issue”.<\/p>\n
