Japanese movie news site, Cinema Today<\/a> is reporting that a new Tekken movie is in the works, dubbed Tekken – A Man Called X.<\/p>\n

The last movie left a lot to be desired, and one of the only reasons I suffered through the whole thing was to note the character development of Nina, portrayed by none other South African actress, Candice Hillebrand.<\/p>\n

Also, I didn’t know this, but the game’s lead developer,\u00a0Katsuhiro Harada hated the whole embarrassing mess (thanks Kotaku<\/a>). “That Hollywood movie is terrible. We were not able to supervise that movie (It was cruel contract) I’m not interested in that [movie]” Harada tweeted,<\/a> once upon a time.<\/p>\n

Anyway, that was the previous Tekken movie – let’s get excited about the next one!<\/p>\n

Tekken – A Man Called X will star Kane Kosugi of Godzilla: Final Wars and DOA: Dead or Alive fame. Apparently Kosugi is known for his martial arts skills, which is a good start for a fighting flick.<\/p>\n

Another promising revelation, is that Prachya Pinkaew will be directing, known for his films Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior and The Predator.<\/p>\n

There isn’t much else to go on at this stage, and so we eagerly await news of a theatrical launch date.<\/p>\n
