{"id":61529,"date":"2014-01-21T12:03:33","date_gmt":"2014-01-21T10:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=61529"},"modified":"2014-01-21T21:59:57","modified_gmt":"2014-01-21T19:59:57","slug":"ps4-error-deletes-game-progress-bricks-consoles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/playstation\/61529-ps4-error-deletes-game-progress-bricks-consoles","title":{"rendered":"PS4 error deletes game progress, bricks consoles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>User reports are emerging on the <a title=\"PlayStation forum\" href=\"http:\/\/community.eu.playstation.com\/t5\/Support-PS4\/ce-34878-0-Error\/m-p\/20287161\" target=\"_blank\">PlayStation forum<\/a> of a diabolical error that is corrupting save game files for a number of titles.<\/p>\n<p>The error code is: CE-34878-0<\/p>\n<p>The error was first reported on the PlayStation forum on 4 December 2013 and there are now over 350 complaints of similar nature in this thread alone.<\/p>\n<p>Users have been losing hours upon hours of progress for no apparent reason, and the cloud save feature seems to be affected as well, meaning progress cannot be recovered.<\/p>\n<p>In the worst cases, applications cannot be restarted, rendering the console useless. Many users have reported no choice other than to have their PS4 replaced by their retailer.<\/p>\n<p>The problem seems indiscriminate, with Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 3, FIFA 14, Assassin&#8217;s Creed 4, and NBA 2K14 all being implicated.<\/p>\n<p>Sony has yet to respond to the issue.<\/p>\n<p>Have you got a PS4?
