Speaking to Eurogamer<\/a>, Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann discussed the studio’s approach to a possible sequel to 2013’s PS3 exclusive smash hit, The Last of Us.<\/p>\n

“We just wrapped up Left Behind<\/a><\/strong>, and Bruce Straley, the game director, and I have been doing this for over four years now. So it’s just time for a break, and to recharge the batteries,” said Druckmann, referring to the game’s first and last DLC, which launches on 14 February.<\/p>\n

Druckmann said they have begun brainstorming new ideas – some potential sequels, some entirely new IP. The challenge is on how to present a new game that isn’t rehashing the old story, said Druckmann.<\/p>\n

“It’s kind of like how we approached Left Behind. Can we tell people a story that’s really worth telling, and that’s not repeating itself? And if we can’t, where can we get inspired – what is something that’s really going to challenge us, and push storytelling in this medium forward?”<\/p>\n

Discussing a potential PS4 port of The Last Of Us, Druckmann said they have to be careful with their studio resources, and it will depend on demand for such a port.<\/p>\n

Naughty Dog is currently split into two teams, with one working on the next Uncharted game for the PS4: Uncharted 4 heads to African seas and PS4<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
