Dutch gaming publication PC Action<\/a> has revealed the results of a survey they conducted into the top 10 game developers as perceived by their readership. The results of over 10 000 votes follow:<\/p>\n

10. 2K Czech<\/strong> – Falling under the publishing umbrella of 2K Games, 2K Czech is probably best known for Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, and the highly anticipated follow-up, Mafia II, due out in August.<\/p>\n

9. Related Design<\/strong> – Known for their work on the Anno series of city building RTS, the latest being Anno 1404: Venice. <\/p>\n

8. Ubisoft Montreal<\/strong> – This studio is behind a number of hit franchises such as Assassins Creed, Splinter Cell, and Prince of Persia. Just don’t let their publishing parents DRM put you off their work…<\/p>\n

7. Bethesda Softworks and Obsidian Entertainment<\/strong> – The two studios were jointly awarded 7th place; Bethesda for their work on Fallout 3, and Obsidian for the upcoming Fallout: New Vegas. <\/p>\n

6. Valve<\/strong> – Still a favourite among gamers for producing the likes of Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Left4Dead 2.<\/p>\n

5. Rockstar North<\/strong> – The developers of GTA IV. Nuff’ said.<\/p>\n

4. Blizzard<\/strong> – Riding on an epic mount – the WoW cash cow – Blizzard has captured the hearts of many a gamer with their damnably addictive games. With StarCraft II on its way, it’s no surprise to see them ranking highly among gamers. <\/p>\n

3. BioWare<\/strong> – The Canadian developers just keep knocking everyone’s socks off with their fantastic role-playing games. Fresh memories of Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 places them in high regard.<\/p>\n

2. Infinity Ward <\/strong>– This could be construed as somewhat of a muddled choice considering the controversy surrounding the development studio. Rather see it as a vote on Infinity Ward as it was when Modern Warfare 2 blew all other games out of the water.<\/p>\n

1. EA Dice<\/strong> – Taking the number one spot, this Swedish developer is known for their Battlefield series of games, and the adventurous Mirror’s Edge. Most recently, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has captured multiplayer FPS gamers the world over<\/p>\n
