Remember Call of Duty Elite – Activision’s stab at turning the CoD community into a social platform (and charging a premium for entertainment and game content at the same time)?<\/p>\n
Well, it’s going dark on Friday<\/a>, 28 February, and Activision said they have no plans to revive the service.<\/p>\n This probably isn’t even of much concern to PC gamers, who were never afforded a version of Elite, or to SA gamers as a whole, since the premium Elite service was not supported in our country.<\/p>\n What does make this interesting, is that Activision says they have taken the most popular features from Call of Duty Elite and condensed them into the free Call of Duty App<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Elite shut down affects Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2 players.
