{"id":6237,"date":"2010-06-02T01:47:00","date_gmt":"2010-06-01T23:47:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"witcher-2-drm-is-nothing-to-worry-about-apparently","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/6237-witcher-2-drm-is-nothing-to-worry-about-apparently","title":{"rendered":"Witcher 2 DRM is \u201cnothing to worry about\u201d, apparently"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>Namco&rsquo;s Olivier Comte was all over the headlines yesterday in support of Ubisoft&rsquo;s much maligned always-on DRM schemes, and with the company currently funding The Witcher 2, developer CD Projekt has since been playing damage control.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our distributors commented the Ubisoft-like DRM security solutions, and we&#8217;re receiving a massive feedback about applying such in The Witcher 2,&rdquo; the company posted on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/thewitcher\/posts\/124042084293558\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook.<\/a> &ldquo;There&#8217;s nothing to worry about, as nothing is decided yet. And still, it&#8217;s a private opinion. You know CD Projekt RED&#8217;s opinion about DRM, right?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>That opinion, of course, would be somewhat opposed to any sort of restrictive DRM. As they&rsquo;ve previously said over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamecyte.com\/?p=8508\" target=\"_blank\">GamerCyte,<\/a> &ldquo;We rather believe that it is better to encourage people to buy the original game by giving them exceptional quality and additional values than trying to punish piracy.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Mind you, CD Projekt&rsquo;s control might be somewhat limited here.
