{"id":62424,"date":"2014-03-07T10:05:11","date_gmt":"2014-03-07T08:05:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=62424"},"modified":"2014-03-07T10:49:32","modified_gmt":"2014-03-07T08:49:32","slug":"the-last-of-us-to-become-a-movie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/62424-the-last-of-us-to-become-a-movie","title":{"rendered":"The Last of Us to become a movie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Screen Gems, a subsidiary of Sony, plans to turn The Last of Us into a movie.<\/p>\n<p>The PlayStation 3 game has won multiple awards for its storyline, game direction, and innovation and selecting it for a big screen adaptation seems a logical move &#8211; or at least one to squeeze more money out of the title.<\/p>\n<p>The creative director of the game, Neil Druckmann, is reportedly in charge of the script, along with other members of Naughty Dog.<\/p>\n<p>Screen Gems president, Clint Culpepper said: &#8220;When I saw the quality of the storytelling, I knew the audience for this project was far greater than just the gaming community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rumours of The Last of Us being turned into a move circulated last year when Sony filed trademarks related to the film.<\/p>\n<p>With zombie\/post-apocalypse themed movies normally a hit at the box office, will this game-to-film adaptation be well received?
