The MyGaming Lifestyle Survey 2014 has wrapped up, we’ve crunched the numbers, and now we will begin to tease out the results over the next week.<\/p>\n
Firstly, we have the demographics that paint a picture of the MyGaming readers and survey participants.<\/p>\n
A note on the survey sample: with a sample size of 1,136<\/strong> we can target a statistical confidence level of 99%, with a confidence interval of 3.83 on a 50% dichotomous response result.<\/p>\n
Of course it is necessary to bear in mind the audience, which will comprise largely of MyGaming and MyBroadband readers,\u00a0and nature of the survey – therefore tech-savvy individuals with access to the Internet will make up our respondents.<\/p>\n
Since this is a broad descriptor of the nature of a modern online gamer, we think it’s fair to say this survey represents the high-end segment of the South African gaming market.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A question that caused a hubbub among some readers and participants was “Are you a virgin?” Our motivation for asking this was questioned, and simply put, we wanted to provide a data point to counter the common aspersion that all gamers are basement-dwelling virgins.<\/p>\n
