2K and Gearbox Software have announced a new entry into their Borderland series, titled\u00a0Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.<\/p>\n
The new Borderlands game, set between Borderlands and Borderland 2, will be ready in the spring of 2014 and is set for a PS3, Xbox 360, and PC release.<\/p>\n
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes players to Pandora’s moon, where they will take on their foes in “gravity-bending gunfights in zero-atmosphere environments”\u00a0with an array of new weaponry. Gamers will be able to play as one of four new characters.<\/p>\n
“Of course, it wouldn\u2019t be a Borderlands game without gazillions of new guns – you’ll shoot with laser guns, the type that \u2018pew pew\u2019 like in Star Wars, and the type that shoot continuous beams like in Ghostbusters. You\u2019ll also freeze bandits in their place and shatter them into hundreds of bloody pieces using an array of Cryo weapons,” stated 2K.<\/p>\n
As you are on a moon with no atmosphere,\u00a0Oxygen is now a precious commodity, and will be a lootable resource – just like ammo – in the new game.<\/p>\n
“Borderlands is one of 2K’s premiere franchises, and Borderlands 2 is the highest-selling title in the history of our company,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Fans are clamouring for an all-new, triple-A Borderlands experience, and we will deliver just that with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.”<\/p>\n
