The Danish Geodata Agency recently recreated the entire country of Denmark in Minecraft at a 1:1 scale – one of the largest projects of its kind. It was made up of 4 trillion bricks and contained a terabyte of data.<\/p>\n
How did Minecraft players show their appreciation? They started blowing it up.<\/p>\n
The Danish agency had disabled the ability to use dynamite in the map, but neglected to disable the mine cart with dynamite item. When players discovered this they began setting off explosives in several Danish towns and built American tanks and flags on top of the ruins.<\/p>\n
“We consider that the nature of playing Minecraft \u2013 elements are broken down and new ones are being created,\u201d said Danish Geodata Agency spokesman, Chris Hammeken.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore we will not reboot the demonstration of Denmark in Minecraft. But, occasionally we will rebuild minor areas if buildings are removed and nothing new is being created.”<\/p>\n
