The Nintendo Vitality Sensor. That&#8230; thing that&#8230; um, measures your pulse. I&rsquo;m still kinda convinced that, not to be outdone by Microsoft&rsquo;s big wow Project Natal reveal at E3 last year, Nintendo&rsquo;s attending marketing guys quickly nicked a pulse oximeter from some nearby medi clinic and told everybody it was something special.<\/p>\n<p>But it was somewhat conspicuously absent from this year&rsquo;s expo. A cynical person might think it&rsquo;s because it&rsquo;s the most stupid, pointless gaming peripheral in the history of the universe, but apparently the real reason is that E3 simply isn&rsquo;t the place for it.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We decided we&#8217;d think about other venues that would be more appropriate,&rdquo; says Nintendo&rsquo;s Cammie Dunaway, disappointing everyone everywhere. &ldquo;[E3] is noisy and adrenaline-filled, and loud and stressful, and it just didn&#8217;t seem like the best environment to introduce a product that&#8217;s really about relaxing.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>So, yeah. They&rsquo;re still working on it.
