I have owned one for around a year, and it has provided me with some gaming experiences only possible with it.<\/p>\n<p>We can go into details about how powerful it is and what it is capable of, but the Wii U has proved that it is far above the rest when it comes to great games regardless of hardware.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mZvlpA7knsQ?rel=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>There are a few factors to consider before buying a Nintendo Wii U:<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Wii U software lineup<\/h3>\n<p>The Wii U has been graced with some great games that have exceeded expectations.<\/p>\n<p>Super Mario 3D World is one of the highest-rated games ever released, and Mario Kart 8 is a top-notch great racer reliving its glory days. Hopes are high for a new Super Smash Bros and The Legend of Zelda.<\/p>\n<p>Although the Wii U has great games incoming and great games available right now, it has very little third party support as developers and publishers are slowly moving on without Nintendo.<\/p>\n<p>Owning a Wii U will mean your console gathers dust every now and then while you wait for a new game, and sometimes the wait is quite long.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, Nintendo has Virtual Console releases on their eShop, and that will grow into a massive library soon, but without its retail library the console is lacking a major feature. You don&#8217;t buy the Wii U just to play Gameboy games.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QvFcueq755c?rel=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">How much does it cost to set up a Wii U gaming station?<\/h3>\n<p>The Wii U faces another obstacle: the cost.<\/p>\n<p>To get a Wii U you will need to fork out around R4,500. As with all Nintendo hardware, the games aren\u2019t cheap and don\u2019t get much cheaper over time, although the Wii U has the advantage of being backwards compatible with Wii games.<\/p>\n<p>Backwards compatibility also plays a role in the cost of accumulating peripherals. We don\u2019t know where it is going and how it is going to get there. Some say Mario Kart 8 will save it, but I would never buy a console for one game this late in its lifecycle.<\/p>\n<p>Considering all its issues I have never regretted buying mine. It might stay off for weeks on end, but when it is on and I am playing a first party title I know that this is a great console that has produced experiences like no other, thanks to its hardware.<\/p>\n<p>The Wii U is the perfect console for those who don\u2019t have the cash to buy games every week; you get a game every month or so and you know that it will be a great game.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mU7tXqYplA8?rel=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wLOKVABfrzw?rel=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pros<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nintendo quality in everything it offers.<\/li>\n<li>Great games to experience.<\/li>\n<li>You can play Wii games.<\/li>\n<li>Virtual Console will grow substantially in the next few years.<\/li>\n<li>Offers a gaming experience that is one of a kind.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cons<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Few games to play.<\/li>\n<li>Comparatively expensive.<\/li>\n<li>Buying into the back-catalogue of games will be expensive.<\/li>\n<li>Extra peripherals costs if you don\u2019t already own a Wii.<\/li>\n<li>Its future is unpredictable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What do you think about the Wii U?
