It’s not often you come across a news article that makes you say: “Man, I want to move to Australia”, but it does happen when the article in question speaks about the joys of drinking and gaming at the same time.<\/p>\n
Not only did the Australians have\u00a0Mana Bar\u00a0in Melbourne (it sadly closed in September 2013), now Sydney is getting its very own video game bar.<\/p>\n
Called Spawn Point<\/a>, the retro establishment will let you play games from the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo 64, Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Master System 2, and Mega Drive 2 – all while sipping on your favourite tipple.<\/p>\n The bar, set to open in August 2014, is the brainchild of\u00a0Ben Mudie.<\/p>\n “Sydney has always been crying out for a gaming bar. I had the early discussions with another friend of mine and came up with the initial concept. The retro theme was chosen as it was what we wanted to be able to go and play in a bar,” he said.<\/p>\n “We are trying to come up with a system where people will be able to either request or vote for what consoles and titles will be in use. Modern consoles are not out of the question either, we just want to start with the retro ones as it’s something most people just don’t have anymore.”<\/p>\n You won’t be charged to play on the consoles, and Mudie also plans to host eSport events.<\/p>\n Battlefield 3 free on Origin<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\nSource: Polygon<\/a><\/h6>\n
