Local Dota 2 gamers can sign up for a chance to play in the\u00a0MSI Beat IT 2014 tournament in Taipei, Taiwan.<\/p>\n
Registrations are now open for the sub-Saharan qualifiers, hosted by MWEB GameZone. Those interested can register via the relevant MWEB page<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Beat IT 2014 competition will be preceded by qualifiers in North America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific, South East Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and Africa.<\/p>\n There are two legs to the Africa qualifiers \u2013 North Africa (Egypt) and Sub-Saharan Africa (SA), and MWEB will be running the sub-Saharan Qualifiers and the Africa finals.<\/p>\n MWEB said they have\u00a0invited eight of the top Dota 2 teams in South Africa and Namibia – both countries have formalised Dota 2 leagues – but there is space for a\u00a032-team group stage.<\/p>\n The top 8 teams from the group stage will go then up against the eight invited teams.<\/p>\n From there, the top four teams will take part in the Africa final.<\/p>\n MSI, one of the sponsors, will provide the winning African team with accommodation for the final in\u00a0Taiwan, $5000 (\u00b1R53,000) towards travel expenses, and five MSI gaming laptops.<\/p>\n You think your Dota 2 team has what it takes?<\/p>\n Video game endings that let us down<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\nMore gaming news<\/h3>\n
