{"id":67071,"date":"2014-07-19T09:47:10","date_gmt":"2014-07-19T07:47:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=67071"},"modified":"2014-07-19T09:49:26","modified_gmt":"2014-07-19T07:49:26","slug":"crash-bandicoot-may-make-a-comeback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/67071-crash-bandicoot-may-make-a-comeback","title":{"rendered":"Crash Bandicoot may make a comeback"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House has hinted that Crash Bandicoot may make a comeback in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In concept, it is something we&#8217;ve been thinking about and discussing, and this is a shift for us.\u00a0We&#8217;ve started to say that maybe there isn&#8217;t anything wrong with going back and looking at characters that people still talk about, that were a big part of either their childhood or their youth. I definitely wouldn&#8217;t close the door on that,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Naughty Dog originally owned the rights to the one of the PlayStation 1&#8217;s most famous mascots, but the rights now sit with Activision, which hasn&#8217;t touched the series in several years.<\/p>\n<p>House did say that the fact Sony did not own the rights put them on &#8220;dangerous ground&#8221; when it came to rebooting the Crash Bandicoot series.<\/p>\n<p>The last time Crash was on a console was in 2008, in\u00a0Crash: Mind Over Mutant for PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, and DS.<\/p>\n<p>There was speculation in November last year that Sony had acquired the Crash IP, but Sony denied this.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_9duLa-mixQ?rel=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Would you like to see Crash Bandicoot on the PS4 (or the PC, probably not the Xbox One)?
