The\u00a0MSI GT72 Dominator Pro – launched worldwide on 18 July 2014 – is an absolute beast of a gaming machine, and the good news is that it is coming to SA.<\/p>\n

Our friends over at Evetech <\/a>have just informed us that the gaming laptop will arrive in South Africa in the first week of August, and is set to cost – wait for it – R39,999<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For one Rand short of R40k, you are well within your rights to expect some insane hardware under the mobile unit’s bonnet, and the GT72 does not disappoint.<\/p>\n

If the 17.3-inch screen is not enough for you while you game, the GT72 can handle\u00a0up to three external monitors, with 4K support.<\/p>\n

The laptop features a colour backlit keyboard from SteelSeries (with customisable macros and colour settings),\u00a0speakers with a built-in subwoofer, a Blu-ray writer, WLAN, Bluetooth, and dual fans, all housed in a one-piece aluminium chassis. Windows 8.1 comes standard, too.<\/p>\n

The back plate of the laptop is easily removable, so you can upgrade your hardware when you need to. Although, I do not see that being\u00a0necessary in the near future.<\/p>\n

TechRadar<\/a>\u00a0recently tried out the\u00a0the GT72, and their “Early Verdict” was favourable.<\/p>\n

“The GT72 looks like a really promising contender. The 17.3-inch screen should be large enough for media streaming sessions and its insanely powerful components can easily withstand whatever the next few years can throw at it. As long as MSI can tune the GT72 for a halfway-decent battery life and carefully considers the heat output, it should be all-systems-go.”<\/p>\n
