Following its launch announcement in March 2014<\/a>, the Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan Z<\/a> – dubbed the\u00a0fastest gaming graphics card on the planet – has finally surfaced in SA.<\/p>\n

The cost – R45,793<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There’s not much we need to say about the card’s price, it’s damn expensive, but it does deliver some formidable specs. So much so, in fact, that it should easily dethrone its main AMD rival, the R9 295X2<\/a>\u00a0– although the AMD option is substantially cheaper.<\/p>\n

The dual-GPU Nvidia card is equivalent to two GTX 780 Tis or GTX Titan Blacks – between R12,000 to R16,000 each – and is configured with 12GB of DDR5 VRAM with support for up to 4 displays. Here are the full specifications:<\/p>\n

Hardware experts AnandTech<\/a>\u00a0were mighty impressed with the card when it was released internationally, and could not deny its immense gaming power. They also took note of the fact it took up rather a lot of space.<\/p>\n

“This 375W beast will in turn be cooled via a triple-slot cooler, owing to the greater amount of heat to dissipate. Triple-slot cards are commonly seen in high-end partner designs, but this marks the first time we’ve seen a triple-slot card as a reference design,” they said.<\/p>\n
