Development veteran Tim Schafer didn’t hold back when asked his opinion on Activision CEO Bobby Kotick. With the Brutal Legend publication fiasco in mind, Schafer likened Kotick to human male reproductive organs. Activision Blizzard responded with some PR rhetoric, but stopped short of denying the allegations. Schafer decided a day or so later that he regretted the statements<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Quantic Dream studio head David Cage sent word that the studio had returned to work after some post-Heavy Rain vacation time, and has two “very different” new projects in the works. Cage outlined how the development experience gained from Heavy Rain will hopefully translate into some pleasantly surprising new gameplay in future titles.<\/p>\n

Blizzard drops Real ID forum names<\/strong> – Read Article <\/a><\/p>\n

Blizzard found themselves reeling from community backlash for a concept which must have looked good on paper. The Real ID implementation on official Blizzard forums would have forced posters to use their real names, linked to their Blizzard games purchases. This was in a supposed attempt to enrich the forum posting experience, and remove most troll-like behaviour. However, the fallout from the community was sufficient enough to force Blizzard to scrap the idea barely a week after announcing it.<\/p>\n

Molyneux punts Fable III <\/strong>– Read Article<\/a><\/p>\n

Peter Molyneux has made a lot of good games, and some not-so-good. The legendary game designer was at the Develop conference in England to talk about Fable III. It emerged that the story will be the heavy focus of the title, as no one bothered to remember the story from Fable II. <\/p>\n

“The story in Fable III is this simple: you are going to be a revolutionary, who’s going to overthrow this tyrannical king who’s doing horrible stuff to Albion. You’re going to gather forces, storm the castle, and then become king yourself. I love that, because people are going to remember that,” said Molyneux. It also emerged this week that Fable III boasts around 460 000 spoken words<\/a> of dialogue.<\/p>\n
