{"id":67870,"date":"2014-08-12T13:57:32","date_gmt":"2014-08-12T11:57:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=67870"},"modified":"2014-08-12T13:59:22","modified_gmt":"2014-08-12T11:59:22","slug":"these-are-the-biggest-movies-in-sa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/features\/67870-these-are-the-biggest-movies-in-sa","title":{"rendered":"These are the biggest movies in SA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Superhero movies dominated the local box office in South Africa in the first half of the year, while locally produced content continued to show an upwards trend.<\/p>\n<p>According to the latest South African Box Office Report published by the National Film and Video Foundation, revenue generated by locally-made films increased 43% to R33 million in the first half of 2014, from R23 million in the same period in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The report showed that 12 of 111 films released during the reporting period were produced locally, up 20% from 10 titles in 2013.
