{"id":68216,"date":"2014-08-31T14:00:14","date_gmt":"2014-08-31T12:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=68216"},"modified":"2014-08-29T10:47:31","modified_gmt":"2014-08-29T08:47:31","slug":"digital-pc-games-dominate-the-sales-charts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/68216-digital-pc-games-dominate-the-sales-charts","title":{"rendered":"Digital PC games dominate the sales charts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to recently released figures, digital downloads account for 92% of all PC game sales across the globe.<\/p>\n<p>If your maths skills are not that great, this means that physical copies of games make up only 8% of global sales, annually.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts DFC Intelligence, speaking to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcr-online.biz\/news\/read\/digital-sales-make-up-92-of-global-game-revenues\/034551\" target=\"_blank\">PCR<\/a>, said that although this benchmark, set in 2013, is incredibly high, it is expected to increase in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>In the UK in 2013, \u00a31.18 billion was made from the sale of mobile, console, and PC games through downloads &#8211; an increase of 16.4% compared to 2012.
