The Wild Wild West might’ve been a lawless wasteland, but Red Dead Redemption’s public Free Roam ain’t no such thing. Not anymore, anyway, ‘cause there’s a new sheriff in town. Well, a title update. It’s kinda like a sheriff, but with more conditional statements and object arrays. <\/p>\n

Over on Rockstar’s site<\/a>, it’s been announced the dev is very much aware of the “few rotten apples” spoiling the fun for everyone else, and is “actively working on new features to counter against the isolated incidents of abuse that go on”. Additionally, anyone caught cheating will be banned from multiplayer for a period of Rockstar’s own deciding. Yer dun been warned, hoss.<\/p>\n

The title update is also introducing some anti-griefing features: “Those who are being bullied repeatedly in Free Roam will be given the option to flee by Transporting and respawning in a region of the map of their choosing.  And those who are bullying repeatedly will face a new challenge: when a player gets a 6 kill streak in Free Roam, they will become “Most Wanted.”  This alerts other players of their status as a player-killer, and also sends NPC law response after them.”<\/p>\n

So, yeah. Take that, guy who kept fragging me while I was doing a gang mission. <\/p>\n

The update is scheduled to roll out within the next month. <\/p>\n
