The PS3 accesses the flashstick and readies itself by installing the relevant software to the new drive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/boardsus.playstation.com\/t5\/PlayStation-3-Updates\/Upgrading-Harddrive-need-3-41\/td-p\/45984903\" target=\"_blank\">Many users <\/a>are reporting that as of firmware update 3.41, PS3s with newly upgraded harddrives are failing to recognise the firmware on the USB drive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sony has responded, insisting that the firmware is not to blame, and instead points the finger at the harddrives themselves.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We apologize for any inconvenience you are experiencing with upgrading Internal Hard Disc Drive (for PlayStation3) on your PlayStation(R)3 computer entertainment system,&#8221; said Sony in a statement.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The information available to our Consumer Services Department does not suggest that this is a problem PlayStation(R) owners are likely to experience when upgrading the HDD with 3.41update. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) strongly supports the quality of its products and backs them with full confidence.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We ask that you update the previous HDD first to see if the update will go through.
