Sliconera<\/a> has spotted a scam email that is doing the rounds.<\/p>\n

The email is a basic phishing scam, and is similar to the countless Standard Bank\/ABSA\/Nedbank\/lottery scam emails that we are subjected to regularly. It offers you a free StarCraft II CD key; all you have to do is supply your Battle.net details. <\/p>\n

The emails comes from wowaccounteu@blizzard.review.com. <\/p>\n

The email reads as follows:<\/p>\n

Hello, thank you for shopping at the Blizzard Store!<\/em><\/p>\n

StarCraft II®: Wings of Liberty™: 2775298057033043807536803<\/em><\/p>\n

To use this key to activate the game, simply follow these instructions: <\/em><\/p>\n

1.    Create a Battle.net account (or if you already have one, log in) at<malicious URL removed!> <\/em><\/p>\n

2.    Verify your e-mail address. (If you have previously verified your address, skip this step.) From the main Account Management page, click the ‘verify this e-mail address’ link. Then, check your e-mail account for a verification e-mail. Click the link in this e-mail to verify your e-mail address. <\/em><\/p>\n

3.    Return to the Battle.net account management page, then click on ‘Code Redemption’. <\/em><\/p>\n

4.    Enter the above CDKey in the code field. <\/em><\/p>\n

5.    Once you have successfully redeemed this code, you will be able to play the game.<\/em><\/p>\n

NOTE: If you have previously chosen to gift your digital purchase, attaching this key to their Battle.net account will prevent you from being able to redeem this key with your Battle.net account.<\/em><\/p>\n

Remember, when receiving suspicious looking email it is usually easy to determine whether it is a scam by looking for a digital signature, and mousing over any contained URLs.
