Sometimes it is more akin to a nightmare induced by strong malaria medication.<\/p>\n<p>The list of games below are examples of said nightmares, where the original console or PC version was taken and ported &#8211; resulting in a mix of bugs, wonky controls, and bad visuals.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">GTA IV &#8211; PC<\/h3>\n<p>When GTA IV was ported to PC back in 2008 it came with a long list of problems. Besides the high system requirements which made grown men cry, the game suffered from frame rate issues, glitchy game models, and long loading times.<\/p>\n<p>The game still suffers from these issues today, with gamers who own high-end rigs complaining they can&#8217;t get the game to run in 1080p at 60fps.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aqa9qC-Iw4A?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Dark Souls &#8211; PC<\/h3>\n<p>Dark Souls is a perfect\u00a0example of quick porting. The game was originally released for consoles in 2011, with the Prepare to Die PC edition hitting the shelves a year later.<\/p>\n<p>In short, the game did not work properly. It only supported 720p, there were a ton of render issues, and the PC controls were a mess. If that was not enough, it used Windows Live DRM, which is arguably the worst thing ever.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, modders came to the rescue and cleaned up the title quite a bit.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QjeNUOrGS1Y?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Bayonetta \u2013 PS3<\/h3>\n<p>As great as Bayonetta was, the original game running on the PS3 was a train wreck. If you had a few days free to wait for its loading times then good for you, but most of us did not.<\/p>\n<p>When you opened a menu, when you reached a cut scene, when you paused the game, there was always a damned loading screen. The game was later patched with the ability to install game data on the console&#8217;s hard drive, which did help alleviate loading times.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Kv-Wrr-ULVY?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim \u2013 PS3<\/h3>\n<p>The biggest RPG release during the PS3\u2019s lifecycle was also the most disappointing port &#8211; Skyrim.<\/p>\n<p>The game\u00a0suffered from serious frame rate issues, downgraded visuals, and the RPG was unplayable when your save file reached 10MB.<\/p>\n<p>Even the DLC for Skyrim was released on the PS3 months after Xbox 360 owners got access, due to bugs.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HH_2Oq87TAQ?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Resident Evil 4 \u2013 PC<\/h3>\n<p>Can you imagine trying to aim down your sights with the WASD keys? Well, if you played the PC version of Resident Evil 4 then you had the displeasure of experiencing it in the digital flesh.<\/p>\n<p>The game was basically copied and pasted onto PC with the same controller scheme as a console, with no mouse support at all.
