Indie developer Amanita Design, the brains behind the critically acclaimed robo-adventure title Machinarium, are offering those who pirated their game a chance to buy back some karma points. The title is being offered for a 75% reduced price of US$5 (\u00b1R36) – obviously this offer is open to all, and not just dirty pirates.<\/p>\n
“We released the game DRM free which means it doesn\u2019t include any anti-piracy protection, therefore the game doesn\u2019t bother players with any serial codes or online authentication, but it\u2019s also very easy to copy it,” explained the Amanita team via their design blog<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Our estimate from the feedback is that only 5-15% of Machinarium players actually paid for the game. If you decide to buy the game, you can be sure you\u2019ll support directly the developers, not any big publisher or distributor.”<\/p>\n Even if you aren’t a pirate looking for redemption, R36 is a fantastic price for this smashing title. Machinarium asks gamers to guide a little robot through his robotic world, on a quest to be reunited with his robo-lover. Along the way he uncovers a sinister plot and has to use all his wits to save the day.
