Telkom will launch a residential wholesale open access fibre broadband product on 1 December 2014. The company revealed its fibre intentions in its interim results presentation on Monday, 17 November 2014.<\/p>\n
The company added that the first fibres will be lit and Telkom will have a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) presence in 23 suburbs by the time it launches.<\/p>\n
Telkom\u2019s chief operating officer Brian Armstrong previously said that if the commercial launch of FTTH doesn\u2019t work in its initial roll-out areas they would have to relook at their approach to home fibre in South Africa.<\/p>\n
