Eidos Montreal has released a single teaser image for its brand-now-gen-spanking new Dawn Engine, which will be used for its future projects set in the “Deus Ex Universe”.<\/p>\n

The engine is a heavily modified version of IO Interactive\u2019s Glacier 2 engine (used in the Hitman series of games), and has been built exclusively for PC and Now-gen consoles (that’s PS4 and Xbox One, for those who haven’t been paying attention).<\/p>\n

Eidos noted on its blog that the screenshot below was taken just to show off what the engine can do, and that “despite any hints you may pick up” from it, it’s definitely not an official announcement of anything.<\/p>\n

Anything, like, you know, the next Deus Ex game which it was built for. None of that. Nope.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the next Deus Ex game – which is not in any way related to the image above which is from the engine designed for the next Deus Ex game – Eidos also reassured gamers that the “Deus Ex Universe” isn’t referring to some sort of MMO.<\/p>\n

“Deus Ex Universe is the name we are giving to the fictional world and the rich lore we are creating for it, which will of course include core games, as well as any other projects that will help bring the world of Deus Ex to life.”<\/p>\n

“We won\u2019t go into too much detail for now, but what we envision is for our projects do have meaningful ties to one another, in order for them to strengthen and deepen your experience within this Universe.”<\/p>\n

So there you go. Are you excited for a new Deus Ex game? I know I am!<\/p>\n
