The latest MyBroadband speed test results show that MTN’s LTE service provides the highest peak download speed in South Africa.<\/p>\n

To ensure it offers a neutral testing environment, MyBroadband hosts its Ookla speed test server at Teraco and NapAfrica’s vendor-neutral hosting facility.<\/p>\n

NapAfrica provides all network operators present at its peering points with free 1Gbps connections to the MyBroadband speed test platform.<\/p>\n

Average MyBroadband speed test results<\/h3>\n

Over the last month, 97,406 speed tests were performed on MyBroadband’s speed test platform.<\/p>\n

The latest statistics show that the average South African download speed over the last month was 13,532kbps, and the average upload speed was 2,615kbps.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that these figures include core network tests, which can significantly increase average speeds.<\/p>\n

To ensure only speed tests from commercial broadband connections were included in the final results, various filtering methods were employed.<\/p>\n
