Telkom is planning to increase the entry-level ADSL speed from 2Mbps to 4Mbps. This is according to information received from multiple ISP executives.<\/p>\n

While details about this planned ADSL speed increase remain sketchy, many ISP executives confirmed that they are aware of the planned ADSL speed increase in 2015.<\/p>\n

This will be the first free ADSL speed increase since November 2013 when Telkom upgraded its 1Mbps, 2Mbps, and 4Mbps ADSL product speeds<\/strong><\/a> to 2Mbps, 4Mbps, and 10Mbps respectively.<\/p>\n

When asked about this planned upgrade, Telkom said that it \u201ccontinuously investigates opportunities to improve the quality and affordability of broadband access in South Africa\u201d.<\/p>\n

Telkom would, however, not provide any details about any planned ADSL speed upgrades.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will make announcements in this regard when it is appropriate to do so,\u201d said Jacqui O\u2019 Sullivan, Managing Executive, Telkom Group Communication.<\/p>\n
