Nvidia recently released its results for the three months between November 2014 and January 2015\u00a0–\u00a0and they are dominating.<\/p>\n
Due to an increase in demand for its new Maxwell graphics cards, the company’s revenue was up 9% to R14.6 billion ($1.25 billion), with\u00a0a net income of R2.26 billion ($193 million).<\/p>\n
In comparison, AMD’s last quarter was more troubled – a 13% drop in revenue to R14.5 billion ($1.24 billion), with a net loss of R4.26 billion ($364 million) – ouch.<\/p>\n
Which card helped make this happen for Nvidia? The GeForce GTX 980, of course.<\/p>\n
Nvidia released the GTX 980, GTX 970, and GTX 960 desktop graphics cards in recent months, along with mobile versions of the 980 and 970.<\/p>\n
The company said it made 38% more money on its\u00a0GeForce GPUs this quarter, helping profits to climb to R2.2 billion ($193 million).<\/p>\n
For the full year, Nvidia made R7.3 billion ($630 million) in profit. That’s enough to buy at least two high-end gaming PCs and a few games. (Just kidding).<\/p>\n
“Momentum is accelerating in each of our market-specialized platforms, driving record revenue in the quarter and full year,” said\u00a0Nvidia.<\/p>\n
