Every so often, Sony sends out emails to anyone who’s accidentally registered a game or console and forgotten to uncheck that “OMG, TOTALLY SEND ME MARKETING JUNK” box. It’s mostly of the fairly benign “What are you playing so we can spam you with stuff about that too” variety, but this month’s corporate missive is something else altogether. It’s a multiple choice survey, but instead of asking what you’re playing so they can spam you with stuff about that too, Sony’s asking PS3 gamers about their real lives. Disturbingly.<\/p>\n
Imagine that you had to give up one thing for a year – video games or something else. Which of the following would you choose?<\/p>\n
So it suggests your car, maybe, or your phone, or, like, fantasy sports leagues. Or your career. Or time with your family. I mean, I realise N4G trolls wouldn’t think twice about dropping their kids off at an orphanage for more snuggle time with their PS3s, but are people like that such a significant demographic that Sony is actually acknowledging them now?<\/p>\n

Obviously, the right answer is “Other (It’s a ****ing PS3, not something really cool like an Xbox 360. LOL. Hey, check out my awesome new asbestos suit.)”. But seriously, PS3 owners who would have to “introduce” someone to their console actually get dates? I thought people like that didn’t even have hair on their special places yet, much less anyone else who might want to see it after a warm Mountain Dew and some chips.<\/p>\n
