Numerous affordable uncapped fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) products were launched in recent months, which offer better value for money than some of Telkom\u2019s ADSL and VDSL products.<\/p>\n

In the most recent development, Fibrehoods unveiled its 100Mbps uncapped FTTH pricing for Craighall and Craighall Park \u2013 R1,400 per month.<\/p>\n

This is significantly cheaper than competing products from Cool Ideas and Cybersmart which are priced at R2,899 per month.<\/p>\n

However, Cybersmart Lightspeed<\/strong><\/a> has launched more affordable 10Mbps, 20Mbps, and 50Mbps uncapped FTTH products to serve the lower end of the market.<\/p>\n

Cybersmart is currently offering its fibre-to-the-home service in around 50 complexes residential flats.<\/p>\n

Cybersmart CEO Laurie Fialkov said that their FTTH products offer superior value to ADSL or VDSL because it is symmetrical (same download and upload speeds) and the low contention ratios.<\/p>\n

Cybersmart\u2019s new uncapped fibre-to-the-home prices compete favourably with Telkom\u2019s ADSL products, as shown in the table below.<\/p>\n
