MyBroadband recently conducted an online piracy survey, which revealed that Telkom’s ADSL service is a firm favourite among South Africa\u2019s Internet pirates. Afrihost is\u00a0the most popular ISP among pirates.<\/p>\n

The online Piracy survey was completed by 4,007 IT professionals and tech-savvy Internet users in South Africa.<\/p>\n

The results revealed that 55% of people who completed the survey have pirated copyrighted movies, TV series, music, software, or games over the last 12 months.<\/p>\n

The survey showed that 74% of online pirates in South Africa use ADSL as their primary broadband connection. This is well above Telkom\u2019s mobile broadband service, which is second on 6%.<\/p>\n

Looking at the ISP of choice for online pirates, Afrihost\u00a0topped the list with 33%, followed by Telkom Internet\u00a0on 23%, and MWEB on 17%.<\/p>\n
