In fact, our only other real qualm with the game is a couple missing characters we really miss.<\/p>\n<p>Smoke, Cyrax, Noob Saibot, Sindel and Rain \u2013 to name but a few \u2013 are missing from this latest literation of everyone\u2019s favourite gore-fest. But as is the way with modders, they\u2019ve found a way to play as supposedly unplayable characters in the PC version of <em>Mortal Kombat X<\/em>. You\u2019re going to have macgyver the game a little and tweak a few files, but it should be worth it. We recommend you backup anything before you mess with it.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/twG6D8WrfBM\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/gaming\/comments\/32rxos\/mkx_playable_rain_mod\/\">ingenuity of Reddit user XVermillion<\/a>, there\u2019s a way to \u201cunlock\u201d some characters NetherRealm Studios never intended you to play, or at the very least not yet.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I\u00a0backed up the files for Shinnok (the character I&#8217;m replacing) and renamed Rain&#8217;s files to match those associated with Shinnok&#8217;s first costume slot (CHAR_Shinnok_A.xxx and one other, the one that matches Rain&#8217;s other one) and moved &#8217;em to the folder and overwrote Shinnok&#8217;s old files with the newly renamed Rain files.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sounds simple enough. Rain was probably intended as a DLC character, so here he is for free.
