Firmware 3.42 is a mandatory update, which means that without it users will not be able to access PSN at all.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>No major changes have been detected so far, although it is thought that the main purpose of the update is to block out recent PS3 USB exploits, namely, PSFreedom, PSGroove and PSJailbreak.
