Dead Rising: Case Zero is an Xbox 360 exclusive prequel to Dead Rising 2. The product acts as a demo of sorts for Xbox users, and can be downloaded for 400 Microsoft Points.

GamerBytes<\/a> have noted that Case Zero has attracted over 300 000 players within its first week of availability. It is possible that, even with Microsoft taking a 30% cut of the sales revenue, Capcom could have generated over US$1 million in revenue from the title.<\/p>\n

With this sort of revenue benchmark being set before a full title is even launched, in the future we can probably expect to see plenty more self contained prequel\/demo titles emerging for big AAA games. With a price tag attached of course. 400 MS points (±R47) for a prequel might not be a bad benchmark.<\/p>\n

Just to be clear, Case Zero isn’t merely the first few levels of the final game – it’s a self contained chapter in the Dead Rising 2 storyline. Gamers can reach up to level five during Case Zero, experience which can be carried over into Dead Rising 2 along with cash earned.<\/p>\n

Case Zero is set three years prior to the events of Dead Rising 2 and it develops the story that occurs between Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2. Case Zero will introduce two of the main Dead Rising 2 characters – protagonist Chuck Greene, and his daughter Katey.<\/p>\n

Dead Rising 2 will be launching on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC towards the end of September.<\/p>\n
