The King’s Quest<\/em>\u00a0revival<\/a> has gotten us thinking about what adventure games we feel deserve\u00a0remakes the most.<\/p>\n

Adventure games are definitely seeing a resurgence as of late, likely thanks to Telltale Games, and so we thought it would be cool to put together a list of some of our favourites.<\/p>\n

More than that, this list is made up of classic adventure games which hold a special place in our hearts, and that we want to see once more.<\/p>\n

1. Day of the Tentacle<\/h3>\n

\"Day<\/a><\/p>\n

Day of the Tentacle<\/em>, released in 1993, is an adventure game and sequel to the highly popular Maniac Mansion<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The game was developed by adventure game legends LucasArts, and\u00a0was a project famously headed by Dave Grossman and the now highly questionable Tim Schafer.<\/p>\n

Day of the Tentacle\u00a0<\/i>is a graphical point-and-click adventure game with stylised cartoon graphics, setting a trend which is still carried on to this day.<\/p>\n

The game follows the events of Maniac Mansion<\/em>, with the Purple Tentacle, a mutant monster and lab assistant created by\u00a0Dr. Fred Edison, gaining intelligence and arms after drinking toxic sludge.<\/p>\n

The Purple Tentacle now plans world domination and characters from the original game must time travel to stop him.<\/p>\n

2. Gabriel Knight<\/h3>\n

\"Gabriel<\/a><\/p>\n

The Gabriel Knight<\/em> series of games was originally created by\u00a0Sierra On-Line and is considered a classic adventure game series among fans of the genre.<\/p>\n

The three-game series focuses\u00a0on the adventures of Gabriel Knight. He is a New Orleans author and bookstore owner who finds that his destiny is to become a “Shadow Hunter”.<\/p>\n

He is joined in\u00a0his journey by\u00a0Grace Nakimura, a major supporting character who takes on a protagonist role in later games.<\/p>\n

3. Space Quest<\/h3>\n

\"Space<\/a><\/p>\n

Another classic series comes from adventure game powerhouses Sierra On-Line\u00a0and is none other than Space Quest<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The series consists of six comedic sci-fi adventure games released between 1986 and 1995.<\/p>\n

In the game series, you play as intergalactic janitor Roger Wilco as he makes his through the galaxy, seeking adventure and cleaning floors for ultimate justice.<\/p>\n

Space Quest<\/em> is well-known for its superb humour and very wacky storylines, which has made it a hallmark of the adventure genre.<\/p>\n

4. Leisure Suit Larry<\/h3>\n

\"Leisure<\/a><\/p>\n

Leisure Suit Larry<\/em> is a controversial adult series of adventure games created by Al Lowe and Sierra Entertainment.<\/p>\n

In the games, released from 1987 to 2009, you play as\u00a0Larry Laffer. Larry is a balding, middle-aged\u00a0pervert clad in leisure suits who has a tendency of spitting out double entendres.<\/p>\n

The series follows his attempts at getting women into bed with him, although his adventures often end in absurd ways with him not getting anywhere.<\/p>\n

5. Snatcher<\/h3>\n

\"Snatcher\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Ever thought you would hear of an adventure game from Hideo Kojima?<\/p>\n

Well, Kojima did direct an adventure game at Konami, and it was called\u00a0Snatcher<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The game was a cyberpunk adventure and originally made in 1988, and is more popularly known for its release on the Sega Saturn in 1996.<\/p>\n

Snatcher <\/em>is considered one of the best games on the Sega Saturn’s small Western library. It’s also heralded as “groundbreaking” for the adventure genre.<\/p>\n

The game is heavily influenced by cyberpunk fiction and features a protagonist named\u00a0Gillian Seed who is investigating a breed of bioroids (cyborgs) called snatchers who kill humans and take their place.<\/p>\n
