With The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt<\/em> releasing next week, and in the hands of critics already<\/a>, we decided to look at some of the games that inspire us to hunt and tackle the most grotesque of creatures as well as mythical beasts; so without further ado, here’s the five best monster-hunting franchises:<\/p>\n

Monster Hunter<\/h3>\n

Of course, no monster-hunting list would be without the most obvious choice: Monster Hunter<\/em>.<\/p>\n

This beloved series has found a cult following around the world, making the transition from console to portable devices, and all without losing any of its scale.<\/p>\n

There’s not a lot more satisfying than banding together with friends to kill or capture the massive and interesting monsters spread across the games’ massive open-world landscapes.<\/p>\n

It’s a difficult game to adopt, but impossible to quit.<\/p>\n
